ic information Name: Charles Rane Fandom: Passenger 57 Age: 34 Sexuality: Straight Classification: Human Abilities [canon only]: None, aside from running fast, killing people, lack of conscience, and eludes authorities a lot Alignment: Evil. Ohh, very evil. Point in Canon: Very close to the film's end, when John Cutter kicked him out of the plane during the fight. Hmm, maybe he should have bet on black in Roulette more often. He was falling to his death before ending up here. Brief History: Little is known about British airline terrors Charles Rane's pre-criminal history. He had a very abusive childhood, enough that it (and the topic of insanity) is a hot button. He was never allowed toys. Abused by his father, Charles killed him in a violent manner. Later in life, he was a known terrorist, top of the list on several agencies, Interpol and FBI among them, plus he had connections to the Middle East which made it hard to catch him. He was sought for his crimes of hijackings and two airplane bombings. However, he corrected his attorney that it was twice that amount. Interpol thought they had him once, but used a train explosion to escape in the flames. The attorney mentioned his childhood and an insanity plea, which made him flip out, terrifying the lawyer. Rane was unafraid of the police and courts, knowing he had a plan in motion. Aboard the plane in FBI custody, he already had several of his own people hidden. He easily took over the plane in minutes, his two FBI captors killed. Unfortunately, security specialist John Cutter interfered and halted the plans, but not before Rane killed a hostage (right after asking about his family). Cutter had escape with an attendant, dumping the fuel so they had to land in a backwater town.
Rane arranged with the sheriff to let go of half the passengers. Rane was eventually captured by Cutter in the county fair. But.. the terrorists had orders to start killing if their leader wasn't returned, so he was allowed back on board. As the plane lifted off once more, Rane was ready to keep going and made more plans with his associate Sabrina. But then Cutter had somehow sneaked onto the plan, dealt with a few of the bad guys, and was left with Charles in a big fight. They were evenly matched, ruthless, each gaining the upper hand for a moment, a bloody fight of combat skills. Rane's gun had went off and they began to lose cabin pressure. During the fight, Cutter was near the open door, but then fought back, ending up with Rane stuck in the opening and holding on. Cutter had placed a few groin kicks, then a boot to the face.. upon which Charles Rane lost his grip and was following to his death.
A strange feeling, a fall. A sense of vertigo and weightlessness. Also a lack of control. Charles Rane most certainly didn't intend to fall. It was a completely unforeseen predicament. He was a known airline hijacker and terrorist after all. The odds of anyone ending up falling out of a plan was small, and even smaller than that was that it would be him. He was a very careful planner, perfection and meticulous, down to the last detail, as well as several contingency plans in advance, should things not go exactly as he and his people wished. John Cutter had been a worthy adversary, the plans changed.. and ohhh, how he was a good enemy. But then John pissed him off. Games were over. Rane's plans of escape from justice was thwarted. He had taken a few shots to the groin and still gave back with all his training in combat and killing methodology. Cutter proved the victor.
And so he was, British sophisticated criminal, wanted by several government agencies in the world.. falling to his death. That last kick had done it. Rane had been knocked from the door, falling downward, feeling great gusts of wind in his descents. So strong they were that he found it hard to see. Though it was night anyway, so it didn't matter. It was happening so fast. He had heard that the human body falling at such a great height, this information coming to him at a most peculiar time when he fell out of a lane, seeing it shrink.. he had heard that a man wouldn't be killed by a fall, no, it was the pressure. He was sure to die any moment now. No doubt he would see his father in Hell very soon. Ah well, least he had taken a great many lives with him. Small comfort, that, as he hoped to bring down Cutter with him too. However, it was not to be. He had little time to ponder it any longer. Death did not come.
One moment, he had been falling. The next? The man found himself on a hard surface, in unknown surroundings. Dusty, an odd smell, old, and very unknown. Felt like a sort of house structure. A big house, to be sure. Just himself and his clothes. No gun, unfortunately. Such a pity. He could still find a replacement weapon to make do, maybe a knife. Or another gun. Charles was also capable of ending a life with his bare hands, if it came down to it. He looked and saw a tall looking man approach, gaunt in appearance. Was it a threat or an innocent bystander? Rane had killed enough of either. He had no weapon at the moment, so he would see if there could be any information gained from listening or following him.
